Who We Are
Our name, Ganawendan Aki, means “Those who watch Mother Earth” in Ojibway - a reflection of our commitment to guardianship, respect and responsibility.
Ganawendan Aki Environmental is an Indigenous-owned environmental services firm. Established in partnership between Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation (WLON) and KGS Group, it ensures Anishinaabe knowledge and tradition are central to projects within WLON territory. We bring together WLON’s cultural leadership and KGS Group’s technical expertise to deliver environmental services that are scientifically sound and culturally informed.
Ganawendan Aki, our name in Anishinaabemowin, means “Those who watch over Mother Earth” – a reflection of our commitment to guardianship, respect and responsibility.
With offices in WLON near Dryden, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba, we serve clients across WLON territory and the Treaty Three area.
